I have to bother someone here because 50 cent pieces aren't my thing. When I check coinsandcanada.com, there's not much of a premium for the 2006 P. Is there something I'm missing?

Chequer, I believe this thread is about one specific coin variety, 2000P half dollar. When you looked it up on the website you mentioned it wouldn't show up since few or none have ever been sold on E-bay. This coin has a mintage similar to it's sister, the 2000P dime, less than a few hundred. If only someone could have got their hands on one from the Mint the year they were issued, what a nice buy it would be. Glenn

Greetings all, I've been interested in this coin since I read about it. I've been researching it and I thought that I may have come up with some dumb luck. I found the clock. The picture displayed the exact clock as above with the 2000 50 cent piece, I could not see the Queen side. I bought 2 of them for $80.00 each and got them today. Everything is perfect but the 50 cent piece is a 2003 with no mint mark. It was fun, hey you never know and I haven't lost anything. If I want I can return the clocks. It was pretty exciting for a bit thinking that one of the rarest coins in Canada was sitting on a shelf in a Sears warehouse. Liverpool

I returned the two clocks today, it was kind of sad. They are very nice. The had a frosted look of proof silver. no mint mark under the queen. They were worth the $80.00 but I have a limited budget for collecting and the clocks would have taken a bite out of it. Life is good, it's all about what's over the hill or just around the corner.

They do come up for sale ever so often, the asking is kind of unrealistic but the selling price is around 1500.00

I would only purchase this coin certified and pre-removed from the clock. I would hate to buy the clock only to mess up the coin.

The last coin sold for 8000.00 plus juice, the mintage figure comment is a little misleading creating the bidding, no doubt it's limited mintage but the 276 figure must match the workforce at Winnipeg at the time. The mint just does some weird and unusual things with their employees

Wow. This coin certainly has a unique story to it. Does anybody know if it has emerged again since the 2013 sale canadian-varieties mentioned? Crazy
