It's pointed 5! The pointed for 1985 is not as pronounced as the 1965 pointed variety but this coin fits the description. The blunt 1985 is very straight down line. Tell the guy to leave you alone as you are not falsely listing anything

I'm pretty sure that the member with the ebay handle of j_coiner6 is jakedacc. If so, maybe he would like to chime in on this. Judging be the picture on coinsandcanada website, I would have to say that this looks like a legit pointed 5. http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...nt-1965-2012

I have already talked to 1PPCLI about this situation and apologized on the fact that the pictures were not clear on my mobile device and did contact him regarding this situation. I do admit that I made an error not realizing that there is a large difference between a pointed 5 on a 1965 and a pointed 5 on a 1985. I never called is coin a 'fake' more or less believed it was a blunt 5 by mistake. But don't let this member deceive you. I will refrain from copying and pasting the replies he gave me seeing that this is a family sight but ebay is pretty heated up about the language and very abusive responses he replied with. It all started with me messaging him saying it wasn't a pointed (in my honest mistake I already messaged him and replied to him about these circumstances) but his reaction completely blew this out of proportion. This is your ebay case 1PPCLI Report SR# 1-13277845218 "Hello Jacob, Thank you for contacting us about reporting a particular seller for abusing ebay system. We will fully investigate this and take the appropriate action once we find a sufficient evidence and as much as we would like to send a result of the investigation as for ebay policy everything will be private. Reported Seller ID: zingo-zingo We appreciate your understanding. Thanks, ebay CS, Froilan, (SR#: 1-13276930854)"

Dear zingo-zingo, This isn't a pointed. If you don't have this removed in 12 hours ebay will do it for you. I am part of the coin community ebay fake/replica and false auctions committee. j_coiner6 This is the last I'm going to say about this and then it's time to move on. The above statement is not justified, "Take your coin off in 12 hours or e-bay will do it for you" is a threat! It is unprovoked and you should be suspended for it. You called me a Idiot and I called you a Loser, those are the harshest words used in all of the messages back and forth. The reason I get so upset at this is because I was in the Infantry for 19 years and have 6 tours of duty in all parts of the world. I didn't do all that so I could come back to my own country and be harassed by you! next time please ensure you have positive ID on your target! BEFORE you pull the trigger! I don't hold grudges, life is to short for that. Let's move on Jake. Like Forest Gump would say "And that's all I have to say about that"

Did you know you have this listed under 'Large cents'?

Not trying to throw gasoline on the fire, but that seems like kind of the wrong way to go about trying to correct a misattributed listing? I know a lot of ccf members 'patrol' ebay, but I didn't realize there was a committee on fake/replica auctions... I would be pretty annoyed myself if that had happened to me, especially if I was correct... Again, not trying to get anyone annoyed but I kind of think that that kind of confrontational approach may do more harm than good... My 2 cents...

F.Y.I.: usually coins that are fakes/forgeries tend to have a value of $1,000+. This 1985 cent with a trend value of less than 50 cents would hardly be worth the time, expense or effort to counterfeit! Glenn

Photos couldn't be better to see that that is a pointed 5 1985 cent. You can even see that the lowest part of the left vertical is chopped off like it should be for 1985 pointed. I may even bid, they were hard to find when cents were still flowing freely from every bank.
Welcome to the ccf, there is a whole lot of good here as mentioned.

We have one main coin dealer where I live and EVERY coin I take to him is "worthless" I even took him a untouched Proof coin a few months back to show him. He looked at it and asked how did it get so scratched. The coin was spotless and perfect, so that's when I know that that's how he does business. In this business, as I guess in most businesses, there's always those who'll be there to try to beat you down, hoping you'll get out so they can dominate...Sad to see, but I've already seen lots of it in the short time I've been around. Welcome to the forum, here you'll find that the vast majority are here to help you out, so stay tuned in and be a part of the solution.
