Over a hundred years old? It's get more interesting all the time.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to find a local historian and get him or her to do the rest of the work. LOL

There's got to be a dental museum somewhere .....I wonder what they'd pay for them.

Welcome back from the depths of the earth.

I'm glad you got your 'treasure' back.

I don't suppose the police have any way of investigating anything so old and I doubt that there is much interest or any reason to do so.

But if you're curious, try a local historian. Your local reference librarian can find out who that is for you.

It is a really curious item. It makes me wonder how many people got that kind of bridge way back then. It couldn't have been cheap and I think a poor person would have just gone without the teeth...but maybe not.

I'm also curious about what one does in the depths of the earth....mining?

Okay -- I had to go look that up.

Neat equipment but I'm scared just thinking about it. Still, it's probably safer than being on the road in the Midwest during a polar vortex.

Good luck with that bridge. It's a nice bit of gold and it is definitely The Strangest Find.
