Over a hundred years old? It's get more interesting all the time. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to find a local historian and get him or her to do the rest of the work. LOL

Quote: Yeah, I hope you get them back. There's got to be a dental museum somewhere .....I wonder what they'd pay for them.

Well, it's good that you got them back. I'm guessing the

Welcome back from the depths of the earth.
I'm glad you got your 'treasure' back.
I don't suppose the police have any way of investigating anything so old and I doubt that there is much interest or any reason to do so.
But if you're curious, try a local historian. Your local reference librarian can find out who that is for you.
It is a really curious item. It makes me wonder how many people got that kind of bridge way back then. It couldn't have been cheap and I think a poor person would have just gone without the teeth...but maybe not.
I'm also curious about what one does in the depths of the earth....mining?

Okay -- I had to go look that up. Neat equipment but I'm scared just thinking about it. Still, it's probably safer than being on the road in the Midwest during a polar vortex. Good luck with that bridge. It's a nice bit of gold and it is definitely The Strangest Find.
