I believe I see damage to the last digit, particularly in the upside down obverse photo. Closer images of the date would really be necessary, but I'm still thinking 58. Here is a comparison of the dates for a 53-O and a 58-O. The '5' seals the deal for me, the 5 in the OP's coin looks more like the 5 in the 58, than the 5 in the 53.

its an 1858 or the only known 1853-O w/out arr making it the only known one in existence and probably very valuable even in current condition. I say 1858 however. date is way too off to be an 1853

Mintage of only 290,000 makes this one scarce!

Since I have posted this coin and stated it was a 1853 O Seated Liberty dime with several other members stating it to be an 1858 0 one reason given was due too the fact that this dime has no arrows..... Well I still believe my dime to be an 1853 O Seated Liberty dime Without Arrows even though most disagree.I have researched and it took me a while but I have found proof of the 1853 O Seated Liberty dime No Arrows. Please go check it out to see for yourself. Thanks for all your helpful comments

Unless I am missing something, the link you provided shows that there were zero 1853-O Liberty Seated dimes with No Arrows minted

Hi ghedary!

No 1853 dimes without arrows were minted in New Orleans.
At some time in last 150+ years your coin took a hit on the eight.

hope this helps!

I'm not sure you're really walking the proper course here.
