Got mine in the mail today! Should have bought a bunch more to sell but didn't think about it at the time. Too bad most of em would only bring a few dollars profit.

Hello Everyone,
I finally got mine today. I really LOVE The set. The coins were beyond what I expected them to be. The US Mint needs to perfect the holders so that the edge lettering can be easier to see.

Speaking of the edge: why do the edges of these coins have a two-toned look (that is, there are two distinct colors separated by an irregular border).
Do the proofs have the same thing?

I received my sets a couple weeks ago and to be honest, I am not quite happy with them. Some of the coins have stains on them, some of the holders are popped open. I think the quality control really is lacking this year. I ordered quite a few of them in hopes to send some in for grading but from the looks of it, neither would grade anything higher than a 68. Maybe I have real bad luck?

Sleaklight, you are still within the time limits to return the coins for refund or exchange. Need to move fast if you have had them for awhile. Good luck,

hmm, I am going to return all of them and have them exchange them all. I wrote down the problems, stained coins, cracked + scratched holders, cracked + opened holders. I think I got all the rejects lol. I normally would keep them but, yeah, this is definately not what I expect proof quality to be like. Hopefully I have better luck on the replacements.

Sleaklight,
Let me offer some advice, just in case it is needed, I returned a lot of 20th Anniversary coins to the mint and they never acknowledged that they received them. Thank God, I sent the package return receipt requested and insured. After a 5 month fight and the help of my congressman, I got my replacements. I had very detailed records on all of my calls to the Mint and my post office delivery verification and the proof was overwhelming in my case. So, if the advice is usable, please do like I did. Good Luck and hope you receive back nothing but "70's".

I finally got mine in the other day. I like the 4 piece set. I showed them to friends and family members and most of them did not even know that those coins were going to be minted. Nice conversation piece.
Berry: a congressman actually helped you out with a mail problem? Wow, Iv got to ask was he/she a friend of yours? By the way, how was the replacement set? Better than the first set I hope?

I returned them before reading your message BErry. I did get delivery confirmation, with insurance on Priority mail shipping. I do home that is enough evidence of me returning them?

gonefishing, My congressman (one of his administrative aides), State of New Jersey, contacted the U.S. Mint in Washington D.C., with my complete file in his possession and with the proof from the Post Office that the package was delivered and received at the Fulfillment Cent in Memphis, TN. I fought the Mint for almost five (5) months with no results. The Congressman got my coins exchange in less than two (2) weeks. The 20th Ann Sets are still in the sealed box from the Mint and eventually will probably sell the sets within the sealed box. I have no idea what is in the box which is one of the fallacies of the TPG requirements for certifying the 20th Ann Sets. No, I do not know the Congressman, but he is a great advocate for the 4th District in New Jersey and is a Veteran's best friend. His name is Chris Smith!! Berry

Berry,
way to go. Its great that Mr. SMITH took that time to help you out. You did the right thing by keeping all of your evidence and phone calls. It is worth the time to document these types of transactions
