Nice find ... your last photo confirms for me that this is indeed the elusive 1939 Jefferson DDR.  I've never found one (yet) after 304,000 Jefferson searched ... your find gives me hope. David

If you want a bargain "microscope"...check this one out...you can get an entire single letter into 1 pic...be warned..put clear tape over metal end, so as not to scratch coins or slabs...mine works great for shooting DDO's-DDR's. http://www.amazon.com/Supereyes-B00...ds=endoscope

I think I've found two 39 DDR Jeff's in the last 30 years. They are scarce and hard to find, but don't bring much $ in low grades. Congrats on scoring one!
