They're going to be hard on this semi-key (anything that'll set you back nearly $1000 in AU55 is semi-key to me ) but I see no reason not to expect the grade. Don't be disappointed if they call it 53, though. They may choose to call what I see as distinctive strike weakness "wear."

What's the process for sending a coin to PCGS? Advantage? (rookie again)

Looks like a TPG should give you a 55 on this one, but who knows these days. Plenty of luster left. It is somewhat weakly struck. No significant marks, which is nice.

Minimum of AU-55. Very nice coin - might grade higher. Good luck!

Well it came back Saturday and I picked it up today. I sent in two 1893-O,one I thought was a lock at VF20 and this one. Looks like they blew them both up; F-15 and a MS62. I was confident on VF-20 and AU-55. Stepped in the right stuff I guess. nlp

I'll send all of my Morgans to you to forward on to PCGS. If you bought it at AU55 money you scored big! Congrats.

Congrats on hitting the jackpot there nlp. The small rim nick is hardly noticeable in the slab.
Looking at Numismedia's pricing for an AU-55 and MS-62 floored me.

1893S----------"Glad you got the 62!"
Me too but in my wildest dreams an AU58 was the top.

yeah, that's what I thought also, my guess was 55 being that I'm a conservative grader. The rims on the coin say to me...circulated... but it does have nice luster and minimal bags, so what the heck, 62 it is, the TPG guys saw something that we didn't. Nice to have a 93-O in uncirculated!

Just wait when it comes time to sell and you (or God forbid your heirs) mosey on down to the local coin show and face the inevitable "well, PCGS just made a mistake on THAT coin as it's overgraded!" and will try to get you (or your heirs) to part with it for XF/AU money. (Yeah... A huge spread exists between AU and 62 and some in the coin dealer fraternity will use it to their advantage every chance they get)
Some coin dealers can really stink up the place sometime with their opinions and offers.
You gotcha a nice coin and a nice accurate grade to go along with it! Congrats!
