Thanks for the provident metals link, I'll have to check them out. The 25 oz silver bullet is sweet, if only it wasn't pricey as well. Although with free shipping calculated it would only be +$12 on 25 ASEs... hmmmmmmmmmmmm. I don't think I'm going that route, but I bet they sell a lot of them on Friday and Saturday evenings with people surfing the web after drinking some brewskis.

I have used Provident and took advantage of their free shipping items. I have done well with http://www.aydincoins.com/ too. Aydin has free shipping. Some other forum members use http://silvergoldbull.com/. Lastly, there are good deals on ebay with a little persistence and patients. Just don't get caught up in a bidding-war. Good luck and keep us posted with your deals.

I bought a bunch of those silver bullets last year. They are pretty cool. My son is a police officer and I gave him some for Xmas. A bit cheaper direct from the manufacturer and a cool production video on the site: http://silverbulletbullion.com/

My sister works for a firearms manufacturer and is a gun enthusiasts (as is her fiancee), so the silver bullet might be a cool wedding gift alternative to give her and it would be memorable... the engraving is a little pricey ($10 per silver bullet) and you need to buy 10 for a complete box of .45 so might be a little more than I'm looking to spend on a gift, but thanks for the link!

10x 1.5oz for the .45 OR you can just get ONE 10oz (.50 BMG) or 25oz (20mm) and save on the engraving cost, throw in a box and you get a great gift..... ;)

Quote:APMEX is offering 10 ASE (breaks it down as buy 8 get 2 free) on ebay for $249.99 with free shipping. Yeah, I saw this as well. Not a bad price, but I object to the sleazy marketing technique of claiming that they are giving you a 20% discount off the "list" price of $31.10 per coin. Unless they really do sell these normally for $31 apiece when silver is at $21. In which case, the marketing for this particular deal isn't sleazy in the least but APMEX are ripoff artists in general for charging a $10 premium.

Why wouldn't anyone just go to their local bullion store (assuming there's one close) and buy 2013 ASEs for $3-$4 over spot? Or if you have to have the 2014s, $4-$5 over?
I realize not everyone has easy access to a bullion dealer, and maybe that's the answer.

Maybe 'cuz it's just easier for someone to sit on their couch in their jammies, brewskie in hand and click on "Buy it now"... A person does not need brains to buy on ebay...BELIEVE me. I have been selling coins there for quite a while...you would be shocked at what some will pay for coins available much cheaper elsewhere.....

In California, if your bullion purchase is less than $1400, you are charged sales tax. That's why I avoid buying my ASE's from a local dealer. And depending on which county you make the purchase, you can pay as much as 9.75% sales tax. In my area sales tax is 9%. At coin shows, I take coins with me for bartering to avoid paying the sales tax.

Yeah I did forget about sales tax. In Texas they charged sales tax on bullion purchases under $1k until sometime last year. I found a local dealer who I got know and he never charged me when he was supposed to, but that is something to consider.
Mmm.... brewskie....

In the end its all about how much over spot is one willing to pay.. My LCS has silver round 1.25 over spot and ASE 4.00 over spot and I still dont like gold way to scary.. I've bought ASE on ebay but only at the auction level and then stare at the door for a week while I wait for them to ship it.. I've spent quite alot of my silver reserves building my numismatic collection..back to rounds for me but gonna buy slow for awhile.. Maybe some junk silver.. The market is just so odd right now
