Congrats on picking the 7070. I can't wait to see some photos!

They are definitely out there for cheaper, but it is just sort of a right place at the right time sort of thing.
I can also see your arguments about why Dansco might not go back an produce another 7070, but it seems a little illogical to me. After all, if their main business is producing these other binders, why sell/produce coin books at all? I would also wager that the 7070 is one of their best selling books so why not produce them? Manufacturing them is probably more difficult since they require the different sized holes on many pages. But this could easily be offset by pricing them higher as it is clear people are willing to pay more for them.
I figure/hope that it is just a matter of them waiting to do it right and make sure that they have all the varieties they and the collectors want to have in there. So fingers crossed that they will be here soon!

Who knows if they have made any albums recently. What we see for sale might just be the supply chain draining.

I wouldn't be shocked if for the older albums what you see is what you getting at this point. There's no shortage of most of the albums

Yes, as it has said for the last two years. By the way, for those who do not know, the Dansco Album Store is not owned by or affiliated with Dansco. Says so right at the bottom of their page.

Yeah, no way I'm paying anywhere near $100 for one. That's highway robbery. I'll call my guy James from my local B & M store. I've known him for most of my life. He has connections...believe me.

Vermontensium, send me an I'm if you want one for the cost of postage. I have several gathering dust in my garage that are only missing a couple of the plastic slides. They are old ones (which I prefer since I am also old), one goes up to 1971 and the other all the way up to the Susan B Anthony dollar in 1979.

Mine has that update page; I've recently realized it's possibly my most expensive numismatic possession.

I looked at the LCS for you today, no luck. They didn't even have a used one. Employee said that once they come in used, they fly right back out the door. The can charge almost brand new pricing on them due to the turnover rate.

I bought my 7070 folder quite a few years ago at a coin club meeting for $4. As of right now, it is missing only two coins, the Seated dollars, not including gold. However, I am trying to upgrade to the Library of Coins type set folder from 1966 or 1969. These are a virtually complete type set and has many more slots than the 7070, which is what I want. Hope you are successful in your venture, but there are other folders out there if you are open to other options. But, as mentioned before, the 7070 is actually very easy to fill; you could get the entire thing filled, minus gold, at a coin show for less than $2000 if quality is not your priority.
