I'm happy this coin turned out to be authentic and graded so high. Your grandfather had an excellent eye.
I wasn't qualified to judge this coin from the start, but I was watching from the sidelines rooting for you.

Unbelievable, I'm glad it worked out so well! Can you imagine buying this coin based off the first pictures the OP posted vs. the PCGS pictures. Night and day...

Wow!! What an amazing piece of history... And an amazingly valuable piece of history at that!! Congrats! Your gramps definitely as amazing taste and an eye for the exceptional! Being from Mass this is what I dream of finding every time I take the metal detector out... But an AU example... Again.... WOW! Thanks for sharing!
