Domain 555, So Paypal basically puts money into my credit card if I refuse to give them a bank connection? What types of funds do they hold? The money I receive from the buyer of something?

Keep in mind they are going to sit on your money for (some times) 3-4 weeks. (In the beginning) Once you are established it goes much more quickly

petersun................... Quote:I personally would like to start my first online transactions here, since I have already familiarized myself with the members here. For ebay, I have had a few bad buying experiences and I feel like people rely on the feedback points too much, making them quite inflated (in the sense that one can actually pay money to buyers to buy feedback). A prime reason to join CCF is the trade-sell-buy opportunity right here, with your friends and cut out (fair and square-No cheating anyone) the 10% ebay fee. IMHO ebay fees on notes and coins should be LOWER

As Domain555 stated, Quote:A prime reason to join CCF is the trade-sell-buy opportunity right here, with your friends and cut out (fair and square-No cheating anyone) the 10% ebay fee. Unfortunately the sell market at CCF has not taken off. IMHO I have bought from members knowing their history and have not been disappointed. One of the reasons I believe for lack of posting is the limited amount of exposure. Why sell when you can make bigger buck on the other side? I wonder what Bobby131313 ForumDad has to say. Sorry, for the add on question.

Bpoc1............. Quote: One of the reasons I believe for lack of posting is the limited amount of exposure. Why sell when you can make bigger buck on the other side? Posting? ... are you talking about the small number of coins for sale on CCF? A bigger buck on the other side? ... other side of what? ebay? Those are the guys with their 10% hands in your pockets. (and the 3% paypal fees?) I am so confused

Interesting! Quote: ebay? Those are the guys with their 10% hands in your pockets. (and the 3% paypal fees?) And the auction houses charge up to & over 20% from the buyer & seller!

Does CCF itself charge certain fees? Or is it just Paypal fees that I must deal with if I choose to sell here?

If the buyer pays with Paypal gift, there is not Paypal fees for the buyer neither for the seller (between Paypal accounts from USA or Canada, for other international transactions could be a small fee). You can calculate the fees here: https://www.paypal.com/ca/cgi-bin/w...sfer-outside

I quit using paypal years ago - too many loopholes and I was ripped off for $850. I pay by postal money order. Easy, simple, and done. Have purchased multiple coins on CCF. Have been VERY happy with every item. The ebay fees will approach closer to 20% by the time it is all said and done. They also constantly change the rules for the sellers.

Is there such thing as postal money order in Canada? What are the typical fees for these orders?

So I found the rates for Posta Money order which has higher fees ($7) than the international money order from USPS. Is it a smart thing to cross the order occasionally to work out money orders there? Or do I have to be a US citizen?
Another thing, since I live near the US border, I can go to the US anytime. Is it usually possible (if I have an American buyer) to go to a post office and mail my packages from there with a return address that is Canadian?
Many thanks!
