Both coins were graded as Vorzüglich which is AU55-MS62.....I imagine the 47 is nearer the former and the 45 nearer the latter.....we'll see.

Hello marbury518. Those are nice looking dollars. You might want to double check their authenticity though. The 5 in the date of 1945 appears to have the wrong shape - it is too short and pointed at the bottom. Hopefully it's just a problem with the image.

The 4 and 7 don't seem quite right either, maybe it's just the lighting. Post some new pics when you have them in hand.

Wow you guys really have an eye! I didn't even think anything was wrong with either.... one thing I can't understand is that if someone goes to such great lengths to get so many of the other details of the coin exact.. how come they can't get the font on the coin correct... this just baffles me!
* I say this only about counterfieting in general.... not saying these coins are counterfiet.... just something that popped into my head as I was reading this thread... Marbury I really hope these coins are legit!*

I have not paid for either and have asked Kunker to investigate.........I looked at the Charlton catalogue and the 5 is too short at the base and too pointed as was noted.....I simply won't pay.....end of. Thanks for saving me getting ripped off....I might have been able to return them but it is a long drawn out process.

Better safe than sorry, I looked all over at a bunch of 1945 5s and it is different.

Just heard back from Kunker and they have accepted that they made an 'error' and that both coins are fakes!

The resolution of your obverse photos are not good enough for me to tell - but if these two dollars are from where I think they were made, then the serifs on the letters of the obverse legend will be different, especially the D's. Compare your coin to this one (you have to log into Heritage to get the zoom photos): http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...028310283738
