You can use the free image optimizer to get the picture under 100kb. Doing separate pics for the obverse and reverse instead of a combo pic will help too.

If you have a photo editing program like Photoshop you can reduce the file size without sacrificing much photo quality. Here is my 1842 Seated dollar if you want to compare them.

my seated looks the exact same but can you please tell me the other factors of a potential counterfeit like it does not stick to a magnet it weighs 26.2 pennyweight has the same diameter of a Morgan dollar but thicker and no simple mint mistakes it is the composition of the look it has. Is this a common year for fakes in the seated series? would it weigh this as a different metal? what else could it be?

As far as authenticity goes here is a start on some of the questions people will have: 1) where did YOU obtain the coins in question? Did you buy them at a LCS, local coin show or off the internet? 2) is the metal correct and not magnetic? 3). Are the reed counts period correct?
There are some very good Chinese counterfeits out there and you have to be careful no matter where you shop. The internet is still the most dangerous shopping venue in my opinion.

I purchased this from a friend that purchased it at a coin dealer inside the local flea market paid 300 for it 4 years ago and the guy wouldn't give him a refund because he swore it was real so I don't know I am still trying to upload better pics

I don't see anything that screams this thing is fake although the photos are a bit small and blurry. I suggest you compare yours to the pictures Joe2007 posted paying close attention to the date digits in particular the number 8. The Chinese fakes usually have this digit deformed. And to CCF. I hope you have an authentic Seated dollar.

Counterfeiters often have problems with the precise shape of letters and numerals. If your coin's features match those of Joe2007's coin it would be a good indicator of authenticity. Seated dollars can be authenticated by ANACS at reasonable cost. If it were my coin and I had otherwise convinced myself it was probably real I would pay them for grading and authentication.

with Jaobler. If this coin passes all the tests everyone can throw at it, you may want to have it authenticated by ANACS.

There are varying quality of counterfeits, some are quite crude and would only fool an amateur while on the other hand there are very good quality fakes that even fool the experts and are very difficult to catch. Another thread that might be helpful. The counterfeit shown in the below thread is fairly easy to spot when compared to genuine coins but not all are. Hope this helps. https://goccf.com/t/117247&whichpage=1

I read through the entire thread you linked and my coin has none of the tell tell features that, that coin had so I feel pretty confident about the coin. Still being unsure I will probably just have it sent off to get graded

Quote:has the same diameter of a Morgan dollar but thicker Noticeably thicker or just apparently slightly thicker? Both coins have the same specifications so the thickness should be the same on both. If the seated in noticeable thicker then the alloy may not be right and they increased the thickness to compensate for short weight.

Probably a real coin but to be 100% sure you might as well send it off for TPG and remove all doubts.
