Unfortunately, both appear to be counterfeits to me. Where'd you get them?

They do not look genuine to me, either.
I'd pass a magnet over them. I'm quite confident that they'll stick.

Hi and thanks for your opinions, I bought a total of 5 coins of one person 2 Morgan dollars, 1 ancient Greek and roman coin and 1 1890 English silver coin they all turned out to be fakes and I paid around $200 which I thought was a good price, silly me. lesson learned

Sorry you got burned, xamenos. Can you share in a general way the circumstances of the purchase to halp others avoid a similar disappointment? Online purchase? What country was the seller located in? Et cetera.

Quote: i did pass a fridge magnet over them and they didn't stick, also the weight is just over 23g each People have too much faith in testing with a magnet. There are a couple different tests that can be done with a magnet but a magnet will stick to only maybe 20% of the fakes out there and that percentage is dropping. The 23 gram weight though is instant confirmation that the pieces are fake. (And not to chastise you too much but that test should have been done before coming here to ask if they were real.)

Hi, I've been buying badges and postcards of this person for over a year now he offered the coins to me as genuine, he has a small market stall in melbourne selling badges, postcards, football cards etc. I haven't had time to go and see him yet but when I do I am going to ask him for a refund.
