Ha, I too was left out like 52Raymo had my bid ready, and as I clicked - I watched it swallow my bid up and leave me in the dust with no time left on the clock! Looks like a bunch of CCF'ers were wanting this one!

Glad one of you got it though. Back to hunting.

It's a nice coin, and popular variety. I have a low grade example. I do not believe this coin is MS. Probably AU55. The strike looks a bit weak and not a lot of luster from the picture. The stain below the bust holds it back too.

with the luster/details it looks AU.
I've been fortunate to spot a few on ebay that didn't go into bidding wars.

Congrats, good score. I don't personally own a DDO coin of any kind, and I think the first I will get will be the classic 1955/1955 DDO LWC. Love that one.

I assure you that is a DDO. It's one of the big DDOs for the whole series. The markers to the OP's coin match these to a T.

Yeah...I think you should see what the market will bear on this one.
If memory serves me correctly, I think Rick Snow sells a ~MS60 slabbed for around $1500 He's got an XF-40 (raw) for $300 now.

I would change the listing to a best offer or buy it now for 1500. See what kinda offers might roll in.

Your new pictures almost make it appear that there is some porosity on the obverse. Its still a nice coin though and one of the finest I've seen.

I would send it off to be graded. As a collector of high grade Indian Head cent varieties, unless I cherrypick them, I buy them slabbed.

I'm actually paying my son $50 to prhotgraph about 50 coin into a folder and he asid he could do it in 3 hours and they will be nicer than this one, also last question with this grade worth paying about $130 to join for the year and do pcgs. my friend I can send it for about $50 total for NGC. I think $80 bucks for membership and I know their expensive but lets face 2 or 3 coins like this a year I think you have to go pcgs. Appreciate your input especially on who to send to Thanks Guys
