I have no idea how much an 1889CC costs. I'm the novice in the family.

1889-CC, along with the 1893-S, is the first Morgan a newbie learns about. They're the low-mintage Kings of the series, worth astronomical premiums and therefore the easiest bait to dangle in front of unsuspecting marks who've only learned the first few words about Morgan collecting.

It's hard to understand how many buyers line up to buy these. Of course you don't have to pass a test to be an ebay buyer.

Just go on Alibaba.com and punch in any rare Morgan that You want. They're like a dollar apiece. The scary thing is that You can order them made out of 90% Silver. Then I punched in PCGS, and it said "Coming Soon".
Very soon Alibaba.com is going to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange! The sad thing is, it will probably be a great stock, because they sell worldwide.

There have been numerous news articles over the past severl years detailing how the Chinese have transformed counterfeiting (of all sorts) into an national industrial enterprise. The British certainly did the same in the 19th century, but their motive was mostly geopolitical, to undermine their adversaries' currencies, not fraud per se. What they didn't have and what exacerbates and amplifies the current situation is internet commerce sites without scruples to streamline and maximize distribution.

And by the way, the fake PCGS slabs - not "coming soon", they're already out there.

I'm sure it always takes 10-25 days to mail a package from Seattle and it always goes airmail.

He said Registered Air Mail. And once it is Registered mail it travels with the rest of the Registered mail and could easily take 10 to 25 days.

Even at 20 times higher than $88.00 which would be $1760 that would be a steal, the coin shown is probably an MS64 or better 1889-CC which catalogues around $105,000.

Is it possible that the slabs and fake coins might get so good that you'd have to send them in to PCGS to have them authenticated? Maybe PCGS could get ahead of the curve and alter their new slabs to make them more difficult to counterfeit. Maybe in the future you'll be able to get a computer chip installed in the slab.

Same jerk under a different ID. 5 buy it now already. He apparently makes $1000 a week scamming, not a bad living and the gullible are apparently easy to find. I reported it to ebay, but nothing will happen.

This latest one doesn't seem to be up as of this morning. Maybe somebody's finally listening.

Good news! Keep reporting if you find more. That person has scammed dozens of people over the past month or so.

I wouldn't make a coin purchase over $10 from a seller who has no feedback. It's just too risky.
Not only that, I would DEFINITELY not make a purchase from a new seller that says "0LD ge nu ine 1 8 8 1 1 8 8 3 C C M0RGAN Limtied Stock". I simply don't understand how anyone could fall for this and expect the coin to look like the one in the picture.

Unfortunately they only need to find a handful of naive people a day for this to be successful. Believe it or not, there are still people who are new to buying and dealing on the internet.

What I worry about is that ignorant people may not realize they are getting phony coins and then they sell them as genuine in the future and become unwitting participants in filling the market with fakes. I would not buy a rare mintage coin that is not TPG. Too risky.
