IMO, its a very old cleaning that has toned dark over time and caused that carbon spotting and staining.
However, a very thoughtful and wonderful Christmas present. I am sure he will be excited to hold it.

I will say that the reverse of the coin is lighter in hand...however I do see the area of concern....have seen worse in righteous slabs though....regardless it will be going in his type set....fair price at $125?

I am sure your dad will appreciate it. It has nice details at about VF30.
If the reverse is lighter in hand as you say, all the better. If not, you may consider a light acetone rinse.

It looks like a solid VF+ and $125 is a good price for sure. The minor issues don't make it a problem coin from what I can see in the images.
