OK folks......results from sorting............217 pre 1982 round nickels.........one 1980 with carp/fish on it, one 1867-1967 with rabbit on it, one 1945-2005 with torch on it, and three with 1952-2002 on them. More interesting results to follow.

Marbury518-
Your "odd looking brass in colour" nickel is made of Tombac, a brass alloy. These were issued in 42 & 43 to save nickel for the war effort. This was the first year of the 12 sided nickel to help distinguish them from pennies.

Yes I did note that but I don't see my ones pointing exactly to the denticle....
