Can you get a close-up of the date and mint mark? Something looks fishy...

Looks ok to me. $60 is not unusual for that semi-key date in raw state. The RedBook prices can be very high.

I would also like to look at a closeup of the mint mark, it looks like it may have been added.
Better close up photos would help.

Red Book values are at least 20% high. As to the cheapest TPG,ANACS.

I think it looks alright, and I'd probably pay about $60-$80 for it. I see no issues here, from what I can see on the photographs.

The 1931-S Lincoln Cent has come down some in the last few years. I have no problem believing that a raw one in this grade was only $60, but would still like a better look at the date and mint mark.

Just put it away for now. In that condition it should be real. Not many would bother making a fake worth that little. And as to sending it in for grading, might end up costing more than it's worth.

This is probably the most faked Lincoln Cent out there. I've seen dozens of fakes over the years.

You need to post a close-up of the date/MM area if you want us to authenticate it.

I paid $60 for the one in my Wheat collection in about the same condition. I wouldn't be concerned over the price. As mentioned, the Red Book is HIGH retail. I never pay anywhere near those prices.

Nice looking coin. Wouldn't hurt to authenticate it if possible.

Looks ok to me. $60 is about right. Wouldn't waste the money to authenticate as I see no red flags.

Is anyone concerned about the dark area around the mint mark?
