Oh yeah, I'm definitely passing since the seller won't stand by it.

Isn't this the same seller that had the MS 1872 Indian cent? Where is he getting all these ultra rare coins?

Quote:Isn't this the same seller that had the MS 1872 Indian cent? Yes it is. I spoke to the seller. Their coins are legit, and they will stand by them as far as the coins being real, but not problem free. The told me if they were sure the coins were problem free, they would submit them themselves. That says a lot

I don't understand why sending it to ANACS for $10-20 is such a big risk for them. Especially for high dollar coins. I'm not always a hundred percent sure that a coin is problem free when I submit them. Just a lot of money to hope it's problem free.

It looks fine to me but pictures can lie.

I agree with BadThad. I like it, but would rather make that judgement in hand.

I am put off by the crud clinging in the tighter areas of the reverse compared to the cleanliness of the fields, and nothing whatsoever on the obverse. This one's ringing every alarm bell I got.

Actually the seller is right on the money about the "die 2" variety. The wheat ears are distinct, L buts the rim, second 2 stronger than the first. I think it's the real deal. I would buy this coin if I had the money.

Interesting that there is a little bit of grit hidden in the devices on the reverse, but not a lick on the obverse.
Probably end up in an EF40 details holder.

Yeah, I'm disinclined to doubt its' authenticity, just the surfaces and EF works for me.

Yep, no doubt authentic, but just can't risk on a raw coin unless seller is 100% behind it. If anybody wants to bid, have at it. I think seller is making a mistake, they have nothing to lose, worst case scenario is that they get their coin back if it doesn't grade problem free. Oh well.

Granted it looks like Die Pair #2, and in great condition; I would still try to work something out with him about having it slabbed.

I tried twice, and the seller won't have any part of it.

Slab smshlab. I like it. If my coin budget wasn't already blown out of the water I'd bid on it.

I still might bid on it. Can't blame me for trying to get a guarantee though My coin budget would get blown through the roof with this one.
