No credit cards at shows I have been to. Cash is king. Some dealers will take checks, many will take checks only if they know you or you have someone (a dealer they know) to vouch for you.

I love Wespnex, its where I started almost 40 years ago going as a kid.... but honestly Coinfest is the show to attend.... here is why... Coinfest has 100+ dealers of all sizes small, medium, and large.... there is something for everyone... $2 coins and $100,000 coins Coinfest has no charge to get in, plenty of FREE parking, and the 1st 100 people on Sat get either a Silver Morgan or Silver Peace dollar....on Sun the 1st 100 get a Red BookCoinfest has many guest speakers on both days... see website for schedule of talks Coinfest has several great exhibits on display, hobo nickels, early US money, even the unique 1870-S Half Dime valued at $2,500,000 The idea behind Coinfest was to bring a National type show to the NY metro area... if you look at the dealer list you will agree that there is something for everyone... errors, ancients, currency, supplies, etc... its all there!! So spread the word and be part of something truly amazing and special.... sort of like attending the 1st woodstock but only instead of music its all about the coins! CAC will be there on SAT giving collectors FREE stickering of their pcgs/ngc coins (limit 20 per person)

But you wouldn't have any bias on that one now, would you?

no... me biased but I do love the Wespnex show... Mark the promotor is a dear friend who I honestly hold in the highest regards.... I have been setting up at Wespnex for many years when the original promotor Earl from Eastchester ran it...... When we set up Coinfest we felt that Wespnex would only be helped by increasing awareness in coins in the area.... Coinfest is really a mini National show and we are trying to put some fun stuff back into the show.... the way shows used to be many years ago.... but looking at both shows I think that we all would agree if you had to pick one that Coinfest would be the one to pick but I hope someone could attend them both....

I will be exhibiting at Coinfest and would love to say Hi.
On the matter of CC, many dealers, myself included can accept CC's with appropriate ID, but checks are much preferred.
Do not expect to be able to purchase bullion with CC's.

Just finished looking at all the dealers I could find online and only about 6 are in my financial ballpark. I'm thinking of skipping this one.

Hi Ken, saw your recent post.... please rest assured that there are many dealers with coins that are inexpensive.... certainly you will have a great time there! I look forward to seeing your post after the show saying how much you enjoyed the show! best, Jon

Note to forum Mom/Dad: Would there be any way to add an ignore feature so I could skip the posts of people who are only here to endlessly promote themselves or their events?
Thanks.
(P.S. To TheCoinfest: you would be the only name on my ignore list. Enough already. We get it.)

Sorry you feel that way, we put our heart and soul into Coinfest to help collectors and have a nice show.... when I see someone thinking that the coins they collect would not be there, I respond.... yes I am promoting the show....but the show is all for the collectors... sorry if you dont know where we are coming from... its a lot of work and we want to make sure people know the true facts....

gnome-I'm sure TheCoinfest works hard, but responding to posts on a website is really a waste of a promoter's valuable time. One post about it is really all that is necessary. If someone doesn't like the show, or doesn't want to come, then a promoter's 'facts' are what we would call 'spin.' Maybe that's his job, but I feel it would be better if he bought an ad on the website rather than responding to posts that raise criticisms, whether he finds them legit or not.
No shows are 'all for the collectors,' otherwise dealers wouldn't show up. If I, as a member of the CCF family were working on a show, I would try to make my posts a bit less like cheerleading and a bit more understanding that no show is perfect, and there might be reasons not to attend or to attend another show.
