I think you mean circulation instead of rotation? I bought rolls off
ebay. That is the first time I found one that strong in these rolls. But I would by more.
So before I buy a roll off
ebay, I check to see what the seller is selling. If he is just selling rolls of proof set coins, that catches my interest.
Step 2 is to see if he is selling doubled dies or varieties. I'm still interested.
Step 3 is to check his feed back to see what others said about his auctions. Any comments about how they enjoyed the variety they bought. (feedback goes back years.)
I look for auctions that has the free shipping. That way you can buy just one roll and not have to pay a lot for shipping. So if they have a Free shipping mention, I may look at more coins from them.
I don't fall for the ones in wrappers to think it hasn't been searched. They can still see through the wrappers. Also I don't pay a lot of money for the rolls. Some will charge a lot for a roll.
Pass. I look for the cheaper rolls. I usually stick with cents, but often you can find rolls of nickels cheaper than cents. There are a lot of doubled dies in both, but most of the times you can see minor ones, but the images might be hard to take. So I sort out all the doubled dies, then put them in order of strength. I number them into my excel files denoting the markers the coin may have. (something I've noticed on proof cents is the lines that are raised on the rim area. Collar scratches that are raised on varieties.) These can help identify the die pair/collar used for that coin. If I find more examples, I can put them with the ones that match markers I've identified previously so so I can show duplicates of the same die. The too minor ones, I put back into the roll.
