I don't think it's even MS; I see AU-55 or -58.
There appears to be wear at the wheat tips and on the grains.

As for getting it graded it would have to be at least MS-66 to make it worthwhile.
Assuming you are thinking about PCGS or NGC it would cost about $17 to grade that coin.
The you have S&H BOTH ways.
And finally you'd have to join NGC or PCGS; you'd get 5 coins graded free that way BUT you'd have to send in 5 coins at the same time.

In general a coin should be worth at least $200 (preferably $300) to merit submitting it for grading.

Great deal for $3!

I see a trace of wear, it's a very nice coin though.

maybe it's the pictures

I will be able to post better pictures that do the coin justice soon. There is much more detail than the pics show.

I kind of want to send it in as a first experience coin grading. I also want to protect it. And I am also wanting to keep it so I don't care about the monetary value of the coin and how much sending it in will set me back. I just want to preserve this coin and keep it in my collection until I pass it down.

Sorry, your new pictures are much worse and make the coin look cleaned.

No sense at all in submitting this coin to a TPG, a complete waste of time and money. If you want to preserve the coin, put it into an air-tite.

These pics are all over the place and very confusing. It does show you how coins look very different in different lighting. My first thought was MS62 then it looks like a little circulation on the cheek and right wheat. My second thought was AU55 but the first pics show a good amount of luster so it was originally MS63 or AU58. ...I give up

If you wish to keep the coin (in which you do), you can protect it in something a lot cheaper than a TPG's slab!

SilverStackerKid, it's a very nice coin. A good buy at 3 bucks. I agree with the others on submitting it however. The coin can be preserved in a number of ways that will be a lot less expensive and preserve it just as well.

Now if you truly want a TPG to grade it for you so you have that then go ahead and submit it. It's your coin and however you want to protect it is really your choice.

It's a nice piece, I congratulate you on a great addition to your collection.

Good Luck!
