Personally i'd think its an AG3. Some letters are worn but I can still read it all very easily.
Not sure if someone would say Fr02. It is very worn, but I'm not sure if its FR02 worn.
Nonetheless, it's a beauty. congrats!

thanks for the opinions, I am happy with the purchase and even more so since it was bought as a birthday gift for me, I think it will go ag-3 as well but will have to wait a while to find out what ICCS says.

The rims still look o.k. so, it should go AG3

yes the rims are strong, what really attracted me to it was the surprising lack of rim damage.

I have a ICCS G4, this 1947 is worn even more! Someone rubbed that daily for a lot of years....

If it was graded AG3 by ICCS would that make it the only one in that grade in their population report?

I know a lowball collector who has two 1947 dollars, both graded ICCS Poor (P-01)...

LOL, it's a 47 and collectible - mine's not much better a blunt VG maybe F12 but it's the only 47 I have. Just finished upgrading all my dollars to MS60 or better except the 45,46,47 and Arnpriors too expensive... sure would like to stumble on a inexpensive 48 to complete my 1935 - 2000 silver dollars

I don't know your budget but a nice BU 1950 arnprior should run you maximum $150.

Yea I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure I have the 50 and 55 Arnpriors in au or better was referring more to the cost of upgrading my VF 1955 Arnprior with die crack, I think I'm just happy to have found one in half decent shape.
Sorry I guess we kind of railroaded your thread...
