Thoughts On Selling Bullion

Are you looking to sell rounds or 90%? I've never sold any of my rounds/ASE/maples, but I've sold 35, 40 & 90%. I figure my LCS sells at 15/1 and checking out what it was selling for on ebay 15-17/1 seems to be regular. The 90% I just sold for close to 15 to 1 (cost $2-3 to ship- I think it estimated I needed 5 oz postage and free tracking through eBay/PayPal. I was a little disappointed that it didn't go higher, but most was not best looking CRH finds- and at same time already won a merc dime auction of similar FV but higher quality for more of a premium. In terms of ASE it appears you can get 5 for around $100 on ebay with free shipping, so if you were selling at that rate you'd probably get $130-140 after shipping/fees. I've never sold non junk on ebay, so numeristic value obviously depends on supply/demand- check what similar auctions have been ending at.

The Force: It depends on the jeweller. If they are smart they will not buy it or they will give you the price they buy it for, as they can source it for much cheaper at other places - they have better prices in general plus they deal in volume. Since you're talking about SILVER, they probably won't buy it because silver is too cheap to make any money off it unless they are mass-producing. Silver is just not "in" right now. Some people adore it, but that's not the rule it's the exception. Imported stuff is too hard to compete with because Western governments stupidly lowered the import tax. You're better off selling privately if you have that kind of patience because you simply don't have a retail store to command such a price - you have no overhead to justify what you want for it. Best thing to do in my opinion is to find somebody willing to trade gram for gram (ASW). You'll get the better end of the deal that way, all depending on grade/wear. Since you're going for non-silver CAD you'll want the cash, though, right? Still in a pickle... Work out a trade here with your haves and your wants, that's what I would do.

I have a profit based endevour at present that is a winner already.

Can not sell bullion coins with the Queens head on them for a price I am happy with. No real interest at all.

But non bullion coin sales for me are very strong and have turned a large money short fall into very reachable project.

One bullion coin only has sold at $15 below purchase price. It was the price it was listed for.

For 1 cent & $12 shipping to Canada, How can you go wrong?

He has a few 1cent auctions like this, but...

At the coin meeting I go to I have traded $10 in halves for $10 in dimes or quarters. I want to get about a $100.00 of small coins in case the world goes nuts and I have to barter for bread or beer. I have also traded 25 40% for $10 90%..

When I started reacquiring silver, I bought several rolls of 40% Kennedys. Later, I decided trade them for ASE's. My dealer accepted the 40's in trade, but at 2x face less than I paid. Lesson learned. Four rolls of 40's got me seven Eagles; 2-2000, 1-2001, 1-2002, 2-2007, 1-2009 and 6 1964 dimes. I'm happy with 90%, ASE, and maples for now.
