Levi, are you able to take and post pictures of your 1998, 99, and 00 wide AMs?

13 out of 700? That's a lot. I picked through about 3500 modern pennies last week (my loose change jar) and found NONE.

Levi, Look at the designer's initials...get a good 2003 or up coin and a good 1991 and below coin and compare it to the ones where you think are Wide AM's. On a Wide AM coin, the initials are noticeably closer to the Memorial steps and on the Close AM coins the initials are noticeably farther away from the steps.

Alcoz; can you tell me the relevance, rarity, value of 1992 and 1993 close AMs?

Here's a link to a site I found about these , hopefully this will help out some. http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/...arieties.htmhope that's allowed.... Is this really all there is to it? There really does seem to be an obvious difference , but when I was looking through mine the letters didn't seem to be almost touching like these are....hmmm

All 1993 P-D-S Cents are Close AM Cents. 1992 was the last year of the Memorial business strike wide A M. The rest of the proof Lincoln Memorial Cents are wide A M.

Do you have a scanner? You don't need a lot of good detail on the coin to spot this, so laying the coin on the scanner and then enlarging the image should be good enough to tell.

It is as if the "M" is moving around, back and forth between the "A", and the "E". Dick
