Based on the better pics I'd suggest sending it to NGC for conservation, grading and slabbing. You'll be way ahead in the long run if you, or your heirs, decide to part with the coin.

Do you have to pay per month for an account with NGC before submission? I am registered with their site for free and can't figure it out. Thank you. I've used ANACS before and theirs is much simpler.

I'm seeing a coin which has been heavily dipped; it's the only thing which explains the abrupt transitions from really clean surfaces to dark patina. I may be wrong.
An NGC Uncirculated Details, Cleaned example went for $258.50 at Heritage about three weeks ago.
