So definitely worth my one cent investment then? It's about the same diameter as a nickel. Would this be worth the cost of getting graded, or is it a "common" error?

Error coin prices flucuate and seem to be all over the place. But I would still guess that your coin is worth at least $30 and maybe as much as $100. Grade matters and having it slabbed would make it easier to sell to a newbie since the error would be verified as a genunine mint error.

This information will not help you with your wife. You Found this coin so ...go Find the rest. LOL

Yes it is a true error and is worth true money. Please keep it safe and out of reach of the wrong people, don't let anyone take it from you, don't loose it. Keep it in a safe spot too, one that you can remember.

Please understand that what you do with it right now is part of determining whether or not it is around in 100 years from now.

I'm not sure slabbing is the right path for a Zlincoln broadstrike. You can't fake this. Any savvy numismatist can clearly see what it is, and slabs aren't airtight. This coin needs to be removed from oxygen and humidity, or it won't be around in 100 years.

That's one sweet broadstrike, even if it wasn't you wouldn't have been out one cent. If it was PMD it would still be a cent. You do need to get it airtight - the sooner the better.

Nice find. I would not slab it but I would put in in an "air-tight" that's a brand holder. Here is an idea of value

I'm just learning about errors and varieties myself but just judging by other broadstruck cents on ebay, it looks like you have a pretty awesome example.

That is a nice broadstruck. Can you take a picture with a nickel on one side and a quarter on the other side so we can get a idea of the size of it. Size matters
