MS62, fields are noisy with small short scratches, perhaps at the most 63.
Nice coin and would work in my empty slot lol.

To me that coin is not an AU-55 coin and I strongly disagree with ICCS. If that coin is AU-55 then an MS-63 example would look like a 70.

I even have am MS-63 37 dollar of my own and it looks just like the one you posted, sometimes ICCS makes mistakes... just like everyone else.

Wow. It had to be net graded for a reason. Maybe we are just not seeing something. From the pictures the coin looks like it has lot's of luster left.

I'm thinking there are small parallel hairlines on the coin.
Even from this picture, when I look carefully, there seems to be a few present. ICCS always net grades these types of coins and I suspect this is what happened.

Look closely at the cheek, neck, hair. This coin has seen a touch of circulation. ICCS will not net grade an uncirculated coin as AU, they will net grade MS-60 if it's uncirculated. It graded AU because there is light wear on the high points.

My interpretation of the photos was that there was a break in the lustre on the high points, most likely due to wear. Hence my guess of AU-58.

I was too generous at MS61, but I agree, lots of chatter on neck, hair....it has seen some time in a pocket with other coins.

I'm not sure I would agree with that as a 100% rule. ICCS can easily grade an AU on a technically acceptable MS60 problem coin. And especially true on a cleaned coin.

One thing many have learned (myself included) about ICCS' grading style is that minor wear on the effigy means relatively little with good looking fields.

If it's uncirculated with zero wear, it's an MS-60, no lower. That's why I refrain from owning anything graded as such, since they are problem coins and severely beat up coins. An AU coin is quite often a better coin in nearly all regards.

Coins in hand look very different, from those in photographs posted here... probably the reason why I don't offer my opinions of grade very often...
