Quote: If sitting on the fence, sellout about to happen. Then dealers sure to increase prices.
First off, it becomes "waiting stock", not sold out. It might still comes back as it seems to often happen with RCM coins. Secondly, the dealers won't increase their prices if they have lots of inventory. It would also depend on how fast they are flying off the shelves. And the dealers look closely at ebay. It has to do very well on ebay before they do jack up their prices. Thirdly, Canada Post has plenty of them so dealers won't increase their prices until Canada Post sell out. Fourthly, previous fractional sets were not jacked up in price by dealers when they sold out at the Mint. As I recall, some dealers had a sale on fractional sets a few months after they were released. Quote: Just got 'last call' e-mail from my rep. The set is about to sell out at the Mint. Reps lie. My rep told me the 2015 Gold Superman coin was sold out. It turned out to not be the case. And so what if the Mint sells out. Get it at the Post Office or the dealers. They got plenty of stock.

I'm still undecided. I don 'to want to rain on anyone's parade but my logical side wonders is this really an occasion to get all excited about spending money at something that likely will not hold its value and is this yet another RCM pump and dump? I own numerous other examples of "events" that seemed significant at the time. So I'm thinking......What really is the significance of the Queen to Canada? Most of us feel no ties or loyalty to Great Britian whatsoever. The longest rein....she will hold this distinction until the day she steps off the thrown or passes on, so what's so special about the day after she achieved it? A new updated effigy to come? The 5th, sequences are on the horizon that will commemorate the passage of time, similar to the 4 x 50c set from 2004 (hope I've got the year right). That's more meaningful to me because it reflects the changes to Canadian coin as time passes. But maybe I'll change my mind tomorrow.......

Majority of us buy numismatic items that will not increase the value in the future, so it's OK to spend the money on the set. But no rush needed to do it right now (only if you really want to be sure that it absolutely brand new). Another point: How this set commemorates "longest reign"? Yes, the jubilee effigy is there (which more associates with year 2002), but no date, no double date. And the year is 2016, while occasion is for 2015. Another RCM set (with nice design though).

How this set commemorates "longest reign"? FEATURES EDGE LETTERING: Your one-ounce coin in the fractional set features edge lettering that reads "LONGEST REIGNING SOVEREIGN / SOUVERAIN AU PLUS LONG RÈGNE"

Thanks, CC-Ottawa, this is interesting.
So definitively worth to get 1oz coin from the set.

Royal Coins often don't do very well on the secondary market. It's a gamble with this set.

See if CP put it up on sale for Black Friday. Mind you last year they didn't put much up

Saw the fractional set on the Shopping Channel it looked nice, I see it is awaiting stock on the Mint site, at 7,500 total mintage it is lower than the 9,999 which was the mintage for the 2014 set. I think the special effigy which has a connection to the medallion struck for her coronation, and Bromberg noted that they could only release the set after the significant hour had passed so that the edge lettering was true. I have to admit I want one of these sets, I like the rose gold, yellow gold, I don`t mind the clamshell, it would go nice with the 2014 side by side with the gold plating on both.

Do you want it for CAD 225 or less ? Buy it now, SilverDon in order to be on "safe" side. I personally think, that too many sets issued, and will not afraid to miss this one, even being nice. So prefer to wait....

If you do get it from Canada Post, there is a 5% cash back site. Takes it down to $213.75.

You get the same 5% discount at Gatewest Coins that brings it down to $213.75 as well. You have to pay $6.50 for postage though while Canada Post has free shipping. Don't have to deal with the hassle of cash back site.

I think the fractional set is a hit because people in England are after the coins aswell this time around.....these are some of the best RCM coins this year IMO and beside's the wooden box this fractional set blows away the moon mask set.....possible coin of the year boys and girls.
