I see rub on the obverse high points and in the fields. The reverse shows less evidence of circulation and stronger remaining luster. Toning appears original.

AU-53 seems about right overall.

AU55 with an old cleaning, there's leftover dirt in both shields.

PCGS XF45, which I feel is correct. The surfaces are really nice and luster remains quite evident. If this is XF, count me in as a collector of XF Seated quarters.

Wow. I was closer than I thought when I said XF40. Missed her by 5 pts.

I as going to say EF45 too, but EFLC posted the grade.

That coin has a lot of eye appeal! pretty Seated quarter.

boy do I need my eyes examined or in the least, a new computer screen. I guess the toning threw everyone off but me, wow, it showed me that drugs and coin grading just do not mix ;-)

Its a beautiful quarter.

I'd buy XF-45 Seated quarters all day if they looked like that (at XF prices of course). I expect that if you cracked this out a few times it would eventually get an AU grade.

I don't think so. I think it was fairly graded.

I just don't see a grade less than AU with that head on Liberty, sorry. Joe2007 has it exactly right.

I would have guessed AU53 too but PCGS is tough on coins with subdued luster getting an AU grade. This coin is probably a 50 or 53 at NGC/ANACS. It is a very strong 45 for sure.
