It looks incuse to me from the light and shadows created. (if it were a die gouge it would be raised, not incuse) The reverse shows no disturbance. (no raised areas) The trench looks rounded at the bottom. So it maybe a struck though rim bur or wire from what I can see. (a close up would be nice to see the ends of these areas)

Coop, If you click on the third pics does it enlarge enough or should I get out my scope and "try" to get a closer up shot? John1

The ends show me that something was struck on the coin during the strike. If it were damaged, the line would not end abruptly. The reverse shows no push. So I'm thinking this is a struck through error. (unknown as to what caused it)

Thanks, coop.
I knew I read something about the ends.
Any day now, I'm going to start remembering this stuff.

What I do is to start a word page from quotes/images that I paste for future references. There is almost 100 pages on my coin imformation files.

This thread is a great example of "a picture is worth a thousand words". Post the best photos you can at the start of the thread to get the most accurate answers to your questions.

Quote: What I do is to start a word page from quotes/images that I paste for future references Thos is much smarter than writing notes on whatever piece of paper is handy and then promptly losing it.

I never print it, just go back to the file for information and can post the scrip from that page. The images I can't move. So I take images of them and edit them to suit my needs with the proper credit to the photographer. (important point)
I recently started saving the addresses of the site incase I need to go there again. (quicker way to find the link)

Don't forget to backup your data on a separate hard drive.

I have added extra hard drives inside the computer I use, that way I can just transfer data to them quickly, anytime I want. If a hard drive fails, the others are still okay. If I have a complete computer melt down ,like a fried motherboard, the hard drives are usually still fine. Adding an extra hard drive or two isn't difficult if you know what you are doing and it is considerably more inexpensive than external hard drives. Most computers are already set up to accommodate an extra drive, all you need to do is install one. You can get one from an old computer or buy a new one. I have several extras around here if anyone needs one, email me and we'll work it out. lincolncentsonline@gmail.com
