Due to all the wierdo type people that sell on the internet, ebay, probably wasting your time to say anything. I'd just move on and never use that one again.

I usually message the seller directly, and if I get a polite response, done deal. If he's a jerk, then positive feedback, but the comment will mention poor packaging.

I agree, just send him a friendly tip. He probably doesn't know any better.

Sometimes purchases turn into rescue missions.
Save the coins from the awful packaging.
My response would depend on the extent of the damage.

I had one seller print out a shipping label and just taped the coin in a little 2x2 manilla coin envelope to the back of the label. Came all the way across the states that way.

Acetone them to get the tape residue off.

"Send a note to the seller explaning it is bad form."

It is possible that they just do not know better. Give them the chance to learn.

Damaged by stapler is more permanent than tape.

Agree with JBuck & this is what I've done. However, if the seller doesn't respond to the private message, then I will leave neutral (if there was no damage) feedback or return it.

Good call.

They say one cannot fix stupid. While I agree, it it on us to make an honest effort to determine if a person is indeed stupid or just simply uneducated. The latter can and should be fixed.

My response? Meh, it happens... (I chose the last option)...
