Ok, perhaps a change of plan. I crunched the prices for the eleven Ike PR69DCAM proofs certified by PCGS. Sticker shock hit me like a sledge hammer! So, reality set in and I checked prices for regular proofs. This appears to be a better fit for my budget and overall collection. I don't mind cracking non certified proofs out and putting them into an album. Now I'm leaning towards a 8176 Dansco album. Just to confirm, the Dansco album with proofs has 32 labeled holes with 4 vacant holes?

That is correct!

I feel you will really like the 8176. I love mine a lot.

I would get the Dansco album for the unslabbed and keep the slabbed in a nice PCGS box.
I just couldn't handle breaking open slabbed coins.

I ended up getting a Dansco 8176 (with proofs) and only need to fill 4 more holes. I bought all 11 proofs in one fell swoop. I should have my Ikes completed by the end of the month, I hope.

Oh pictures... lovely, lovely pictures...

And like jbuck, I love my 8176 too. VERY happy with it. Finished it up last year with a lot of help from many CCF neighbors.

What's that, you say? You'd like to see photos of mine while we wait for batboy's? Well certainly. You can check them out here!

Nice Ikes, CelticKnot. They do look sweet in a Dansco.

I was going to post photos after I upgraded the 1971 (Philly Mint), but since y'all begged, I'll put them up now. I have at least 8 coins I pulled from circulation from way back in the 1980s. I plan to upgrade a couple of them eventually. I bought all 11 raw proofs from a semi-local coin shop for $100, so this Ike set can be put together on a budget. I was pleasantly surprised that some of the proofs appear to be high grade deep cameos. Maybe I'll get them certified someday?

Wait, but what about the 1972 type 2 (King of the Ikes) and 1972 type 3?

Wait, didn't you have more peg legs in slabs?

No more Ikes?

Just a small stash of extras which includes a raw AU 1972 type 3 and an uncirculated 1977.

Awesome Ikes, batboy! Well done.

I like what you did with the 4 extra holes.

Is the 73S Proof toned or is that just the lighting?

It's just the lighting. Been keeping my eye open for a toned Ike though. Was thinking that would be icing on the cake if I find a nice one.
