OK so price was actually $335 but still looks pretty good as far as I can tell.

And on further inspection (and inquiring) the coin was never in a bezel so the rims are ok the only thing was that there are some marks and it has been polished as it is reflective a little bit. Will be stopping back there today possibly since the lcs said they could ship it out for $350 today if I don't take it at $320 (his lowest price). What think all ye? I am not too disappointed with the polishing as I can't tell without looking closely at it (except for the slight reflectivness of it). But then again, this may be my only gold coin possibly ever and it is relatively close to spot only about $30 higher. I am definitely leaning towards not being too picky on the gold coins since worst case scenario I sell it at spot again. Thanks for your opinions!

I really like it, you did pretty good imo. I think I would've done the same thing. I like the Indian Head gold and so do lots of people, you could easily move it.

And plus I looked on ebay and the lowest BIN for any ex jewelry, cleaned $5 gold was $400. There were only a handful that were in the same price range in the sold listings and you are right some of them were worse off looking than mine. My goal probably is getting the gold coins as close to spot as possible and as long as the details/damage doesn't distract too much from the details of the coin.

You might see some 'ex-jewelry' marks when you get it out of the 2X2. But the coin doesn't show a lot of abuse at all. So...

I like the look of the coin, and as said, these are easy to sell, polished or not. I too have an ex-jewelry that I bought at melt..its just sitting there waiting for gold to go up!

It's a little shiny but looks like an xf. And it's gold. The size of a nickel but heftier.
