I was surprised to see the security dots on this, I wonder when they first started doing that with bills?

Ty DBM, I think this has to be one of the best designs ever for a note, although it would never fly today, it's good to see that at a point in our history it was made public. I'd like to say also that in hand vs the pictures, if you times 2 these images it'll give you the full effect of pure eye candy of color and design.

I received a mail with an offer in it to buy this note. I thought it was quite low at 175.00 US. Any thoughts on what kind of dollars this should sell for? Tyia. Cheers. Jon

I talked to the owner of this note today, he's wanting to part with it. Any ideas of what it could be sold/bought for? If I don't purchase it from him it may go onto ebay or kijiji. tyia, cheers, Jon.

I am not really a currency collector, but I would easily pay $175 for it,lol. It would be interesting to see how it would come back graded. What condition is it in?

ty for your replies, as mentioned above by Bill, I agree with a vf and it is the small Logan signature but the note feels pretty crisp even tho it has had folds in the past they don't appear to be finger nailed folds, very clean tho with no spot stains. My friend has asked me to help with letting his collection go. We are working on the nickels as well complete set from 1922 up excluding minor varieties and probably 1 or 2 more sets in the works. My poor eyes gettin worked overtime lol.

I think $175 is about right. I got a 1917 $20 Canadian Bank of Commerce banknote for around that price through an auction. It is a graded banknote in VF condition.

Even though the retail price is $375, I paid less than $200 for it.

I found this info online.
Common notes. The Canadian Bank of Commerce issued $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills dated as 2nd Jany 1917. All denominations are available in low grades. High grade examples can be difficult to locate. There are dozens of varieties to the 1917 series. I have seen online in a fast search, in 64 EPQ grade sold for $4000 plus. In lower grade in the neighborhood of $220 cad.
If you are collecting this series, I would hold on until you come across a better grade then sell this one. If you are looking to flip and you are making a profit at $175 USD then I would do that. I believe your note is in the lower grades more on the F side then VF, many visible fold marks and the margins are not equal. In my opinion note collectors will spend but on pristine notes. Yours will attract the entry level collector.
Good luck
