Last year, I was going through a dealer's 1940s-1950s Wheat cent bin, in which each coin was priced at a mere 5 cents, and found the following coin. This specimen first stuck out to me because it possessed original mint luster, and I had a habit of picking out all the wheat cents from this particular bin which were in such a state of preservation. However, upon taking a closer look at this coin, I discovered that it had some weakly struck points, namely where "TRUST" is usually present on the obverse, where the right wheat stalk is located on the reverse (which is in the same area of the planchet as the "TRUST" lettering), and finally on the legend "AMERICA". Closer examination revealed that the planchet tapers off exactly where the weakness is present on the wheat stalk and motto. As with the struck through partially capped die error I posted a couple of days ago, I plan on sending this coin off to ANACS. Pictures of the coin are included below.
Thank you E&V! I have had this one sitting around for over a year now, and am gathering up some modern errors and varieties for an upcoming submission, so I thought I'd share it here.
