MS-63BN, nice coin, but I have to also question the neck area, it doesn't look like somebody worked on it and removed some of a the patina.

Quote: What is this bin of coppers you speak of? We have bins of scrap world mixed money (very low value) 10cents if not 1 cent each, the better values and coins go into our auctions Of coarse I collect Canada and USA cents and this is the first find of major value(in the bin). I have found minor varieties before(in the bin)( same lot 1925s RPM-002) Same old story you need to know what you are looking for and I don't save gold or silver so I pick up the copper.

AU58 details. looks like some type of environmental damage on the neck area like someone attempted to clean something off

All I did was a cotton bud wipe with acetone, so most of it must be from an early clean?

There are still many green copper verdigris under the neck. This is likely caused by environmental exposure of this area to acetic acid. The previous owner is not experienced enough to preserve it. Rather he cleaned it using very harsh wiping, possibly using a metal brush. They should use verdi-care. I heard that people have a lot of success with this. Contact badthad. For this coin, it may have already damaged and thus is not worthy preserving it any further. I will not throw good money after bad.

The cost of sending Verdi-Care to NZ would be far to expensive. So I have listed it for sale on our local site at half price.

AU+ Details. Still a decent looking example of a tough date. Early S-mint Lincolns are ALL special!

My initial thought when I saw the picture was AU58, and that the area on the neck is from improper alloy mix. Just my opinion from these pics, but I don't see a harsh cleaning.
