Come on guys (and gals). This just plain isn't VF. F15 is generous.

Well if I am counting votes correctly, I see four F-15's and an F-12. No VF votes. So no one is calling it VF. The obverse is better than the reverse though so it's a bit of a sticky wicket, eh?

Check out the filled R in TRUST! I could see it making VF20 because of the weak strike and also agree it appears F+ as-is.

It also has a filled S in TRUST, and a filled 4...
When I first viewed the coin, I saw the weak "O", the weakness in the PLU of PLURIBUS, and thought the wheat lines were more weak strike than wear. When I noticed the filled letters and date, I just decided whats a couple bucks, I like it!

I agree with F12 but I'm curious about the filled R, S and 4... how does that all happen to the same coin? The R looks maybe like a die chip?

I pull out my copy of Official ANA grading standard.
One of the paragraphs reads, and I quote, "...weakly struck, ..., especially for following date:, ....,1922-D, 1923, 1923 S, 1924, 1924-S, 1925-S, D, ...
So considering the history, this coin is indeed a good strike.

Nice 1924 S, BadThad

The OP's coin has got to be better than 50% of all other F-12 1924 S LWC, but it does have a bit of striking weakness. Still a nice F-12 example, though

Here's my 1924 S for strike comparison... Notice the weak striking stands out on the reverse most of all

But dont note the bad pics
