Your half dollar looks like the 76S DDO-004 to me. Attached is a photo of a stage A marker for the DDO-004...a small die gouge under the H of HALF.

Hello Larry and Thank you for your reply. Well considering you have reported 3 of the 4 DDO proofs halves I really thank you . Here is a picture of my H in half and also I want to point out how the bottom left bar in your H has a weird ripple idk if that's from the strike but it is definitely different from mine. Maybe later stage? Your opinion is greatly welcomed.

The devices look overall the same as a normal coin would look. I see Wexler doesn't have any listing for this year. CONECA doesn't have any images. So if you could make a side by side of a normal coin and your coin that might help.

OK Coop and Larry I got something for both of you guys Larry I will show you above my L is clean and I found a great marker on the Y of Liberty The focus is a hair of on the Y because I wanted to show it was on the top of the letter and on the field between it and the rim .

Thank you Larry for the site . IDK why when I look in the master listings I don't get the pictures . Anyway based off their pictures I don't think it is listed. It does look a lot like 004 but I would think they would list the marker on the Y .

You could always send it into James Wiles if you think it would be a new listing but chances are it is the DDO-004, not all markers get mentioned in the description in the "Master Files".

That's the problem there are no markers listed for any of them ? Not in master listings or the link that Larry provided. And mine have none of the markers Larry's 004 had . Why don't they list markers on everything at least one or two

It would be nice if there was markers and photographs listed for each die stage within the "Listings" but remember that James Wiles is donating his time keeping the listing. Even the new eBooks he is working on at Variety Vista, he is donating his time in doing so. Free is nice but sometimes you get what you pay for. Give it time, the listing will get better with more information both descriptions and photographs over time.

In the meantime, if you have questions about Kennedy half dollar varieties use Larry as a resource (heck I do).

Tim

The nice thing about having these online rather on E-Disks is that the information can be updated when new stuff comes in. You can't do that on E-Disks.

Could you create a side by side with a normal coin and your coin? That would show me if the devices are enlarged or just normal sized. If they are normal sized, then it probably is not a hub doubling.

Coop I threw the pictures of both coins up there for you in the post . One of a normal coin and one of the doubled die. I will try when I get home Monday create a side by side. I'm not anywhere near as good editing photos as you no promises lol. .....

Feel free to send me the raw images. I can edit them. The larger the image the better. (send only one at a time to my email)

The two images might be mislabeled? Note the dot on the right between the 1776? The one you have labeled as normal show an egg shaped dot. The one marked DDO shows thicker looking devices, but the overall size is the same in both images.
