Not a single thing you posted wouldn't fit into my collection, SilverDon. Paul is a great guy, eh? Do you or SHAFTA4a have an extra wooden nickel I could trade for? Hey Tayloroftheaxe, are you from Nackawic by any chance? You mentioned the New Brunswickers and with a username like that I have a hunch. Let's get back to that wooden nickel! A.P.N.A. logo and a 1st of it's kind.

HARMONICA, no, I'm not from New Brunswick. Two of the dealers I spoke with said they were from NB and the parking lot had a lot of NB plates. I'm in Dartmouth, NS. Thank you for making me google Nackawic, I didn't know they had the worlds largest Axe.
Wish I had seen those wooden tokens when I was there. Maybe next time. Cheers,

I really like that Manitoba gold dollar... do you remember what the dealer was asking for that piece and who the dealer was?

Truro, was a great show in my opinion, lots of coins and paper there great bunch of dealers had a great time. Yes, met Paul DeMerchant very nice fellow and had lots of nice stuff. I picked up 6 Tokens and 5 herring scales but, got a 1938 Canada nickel in AU-55 from ICCS I was missing that one in my set as all my others are high AU or mint state and, it was the only one there, I checked all the other dealers.. Soory, Harmonica I haven't got a wooden token Silverdon, I didn't know how to find you at the show, sorry we didn't get to meet.

Too bad SHAFTA9a, I was at the club table just to the left of the door, selling wooden tokens, giving Coin News and Goody bags for free, for a few hours. Was browsing the tables and chatting with dealers, will have to announce a shirt colour the next time. Sounds like the club wants to host more of these and the note from the Club today was that this show was a success!!

No problem, SHAFTA9a. Are Herring nickels the small silver 5 cent coin? I always called them "Fish Scales". My mother is from Cape Breton Island and my dad calls her a "Herring snapper" haha.
You say you where selling them SilverDon? If you don't want to trade for a local NB token I wll just flat out buy one from you including shipping cost. Do you know how many were "minted"? I just bought the first edition of "Wooden Money in Atlantic Canada" by Glen Roger and I think it would be cool to bring the newest wooden nickel and the oldest book for coin club's show and tell.

I was selling them at the Central Nova Coin Club table as a volunteer. I will be checking with the organizers for wooden tokens for everyone tomorrow. Will send out when I get some. Not sure of the mintage.
I've been called a clam digger, a bluenoser, and worse, but not that, funny.

I only live an hours drive from Truro. I didn't know anything about a show. Guess I should log on here more often
