The photo of the 21 is showing signs of circulation rub and wear. Would need the obverse photo to give an exact grade. Based on reverse photo the coin at best is AU and most likely XF.

I was also leaning towards AU
you can't have South Africa grade A
American coin lol.
Stupid people cheap holder.
But I'm in it for the coin not the slab.

Interesting slab ... Thanks for posting.

I would not give a guess on a grade without seeing a good picture
of both obverse and reverse.

I compared the image of the 1885 to the 1921 and the pictures suggest the 85 looks better than the 21.
But I will see when it gets delivered and will post a picture
It's awesome to have a small piece of American history with me
And I know I don't own it, I'm just the keeper till moves to a new owner.
Thank you America for such a GREAT coin!!!

Teslacoil,

Is there a reason you do not buy a Morgan on ebay or US dealer in a NGC or PCGS slab that ships international?

Slider, I have tried all the main dealers like APMEX but they all do not send to South Africa
And ebay well there is so much red tape like cos toms ect bit scared to buy from ebay.
Maybe I should just try it with a small inexpensive item and see

Good idea. If you buy something in a PCGS or NGC holder, you will not have to worry about the true condition, at least.

I am not good at grading but does anyone think it's been cleaned? I see the tell tail sign of being cleaned, shadowing around the letters.

Looks to be about AU-55 from the reverse. Doesn't appear to have been cleaned but need better photos to be sure.

Could it be a proof like?
It has no cartwheel
The coin does not look frosty at all
It has scratches but it is like a mirror on both sides.
My 79 morgan has cartwheel.
Could it be?
