If it were a larger planchet, struck off-centre without collar can it look like this?

I was thinking foreign planchet, but as you stated I'm not entirely sure about what it would look like or if it could be minted with the same parameters as a penny when it is a larger planchet. I can bring it to the Mississauga coin show as well if anyone will be there that would like a lookie loo

I do not collect these types of errors but I will be attending the show and would love to see it in hand.

Done deal, what time you think you'll be there? I will be wearing a Zelda hat and a blue shirt that says jamaica, just to make it a little easier to pick me out of the rest of the people haha

Thats a strange looking one it appears to be encased within a copper ring similar to that of a trick coin.
Odd and cool I agree about seeing it in hand to be sure about whats going on.

To be honest, it is a coin my friend found in his penny jar, I will be going to pick it up from him Saturday. I do not believe it has a rim as defined / elevated as yours ace

Looks like the offset penny is encased in a copper pipe or ring but just match a regular penny to it or you have something really cool

OP said that was just the floor showing through the window of the 2x2. the penny is raw.

In that cases, it's just an offset as mentioned earlier nothing special

OK, I see what you mean!
Great optical illusion! Wow!
The coin was photographed on a piece wood which is similar in colour to the copper cent.
