"Centsles", and his basement slabbing company NNC, have long been a topic on many coin discussion boards.

His slabs are generally not well thought of online or in the aftermarket.

Maybe it is the beginning of the end. We can only hope!

Been enforced for some time now. This guy just was able to skate by because he's a managed account. Not any more though.

Not for this guy. His most recent feedback item has no blackout.

BTW, I actually now remember doing business with him, all the while appalled by many of his listings. The coin I bought was a little different than his normal stock-in-trade: raw 1872 Indian Head, which I was satisfied with.

I see things on ebay have changed since that SBA quarter he had.

For those unfamiliar with ebay's policy ---

"The numeric grade (such as MS-65, VF-25) isn't included in the title, description, or item specifics of the listing." (in the "Raw coins" section)

and

"Photos or scans of coins in holders from a non-approved grading company cannot show a grade. The grade must be completely obscured and unreadable."

Approved grading companies are:

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC)
Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS)
American Numismatic Association Certification Service (ANACS)
Independent Coin Graders (ICG)

Technically, per WRITTEN policy, there is still a loophole for raw coin photos housed in, say, a 2x2 cardboard holder with the numeric grade written or printed on it (unless one interprets "a holder from a non-approved grading service" to include ANY holder whatsoever). I've seen listings with the raw coin sitting on a piece of paper or outside of an envelope with a numeric grade written on it.

This is great news if ebay holds him to it. Bobby knows all too well the preferential treatment he gets due to his earning capacity. Lets hope this holds and causes his sales to slip to the point his protection detail at ebay dissolves! He's pure scum plain and simple.

And what happened to segs? Weren't they an approved ebay TPG?

Should those that don't comply be reported?

The words I'd use to describe this seller are not appropriate for this forum.

Suffice to say, I am pleased with this change in ebay's policy enforcement.

No. They did all things ebay required for a service to qualify as an approved Grading Company, but ebay never gave them approval.

He sued ebay over the accepted TPG thing. I think this was probably a compromise of some sort.

I believe that there was some other discussion in regards to which TPG would be accepted, because in Canada we have 2 very reputable companies as well.
