They didn't make mint sets in 1982/83 that they sold as a set. At each mint you could get a "P" of "D" set from the mint directly. So BU coins from that year are ones to save. If you get OBW rolls, that is even better.

I just signed on and scrolled down. I saw the first pic and thought to myself how neat it was that you made it, but I liked the other one better. Then I scrolled down and there it was, and another! Thank you Coop. When I get that Photoshop I think I'll have a whole new world. I sent these pics to Mr. Wexler today. When I hear back from him, I'll post here. I have high hopes for this one, but at the same time I know it could go either way. We will see. I appreciate your looking Dustin, We probably didn't give this one too much of a chance- thinking it was too good to be true. That may or may not be. We will see.

Almost two years ago I was figuring out how to upload pictures. Then I found out I needed to learn how to take pictures. Easy peasy instructions on submitting coins sounds good!

It's not the horse, it's the frog. Mr. Wexler says it's Die Deterioration. The good news is we can learn a good lesson here. The reason it resembles a Doubled Die so much is because the die erodes on the letters, date, etc., first. "Since the greatest erosion is around the design elements such as the letters, date, etc. the new raised areas resemble doubling." I'm thinking there is only so much planchet metal to go around. Thanks for the excellent referral Coop.

Well it was a confusing one to me. The lip area looked just the a DDO, but it was missing other areas affected. The cheek area made me wonder if it were MD as the metal looked moved there. Also the motto showed some MD.

Yes, it was confusing, like you said, it should have appeared in an earlier die state. I thought maybe it was missing the other area affected because of grease on the ear (the 1966 was affected there also). The flow was on the vertical lines. I am not about to beat a dead horse though. It definitely is what it is, a unique example of Die Deterioration. All the help and consideration is much appreciated. I will go on to the next one.
