Tough one to match. Looks like I'm just an observer this go round. Thanks, Doug.

Hey that's OK Doug :) you put a lot into my other one. I need to find a nice and easy one for a change.

I'll see if I can do some of those side by sides like you and coop were doing.

Okay back to the drawing board - as I mentioned I can't find any of the die markers for the listed DDR's.

The only other one I could see it being is the 1940P-1DR-001 but I don't have the DDO to go with it. I'll do side by sides for this match up.

As mentioned before, it is definetely a Doubled die, just so circulated its hard to find a match. Nice find though!

On closer examination and using some of the images from Wexler's 1940 1¢ WDDR-007 along with the Copper coins images 1DR-004 I think you may be right. Using Photoshop, the wheat heads are the same size and the other devices line up well also, except for the dot which is very close and could just look a little off due to wear. My vote goes to 1DR-004 WDDR-007.

I hope so - because I am not having any luck with the side by sides of the 1940P-1DR-001. I am not very good with the photo programs yet and can't seem to draw the straight vertical lines that coop shows on some of the posts to check the device positioning.

Thank you for all your time helping me out.

It makes it a touch call with so much circulation damage on the coins. How much was there before circulation is any ones guess? But something that stood out to me the is the first dot on the EPU. The direction of the movement looks different. Also the shape of the 'E' look different on your post with the side by side. I feel it is a DDR, but not 004 from just what I noticed on the side by side.

Thanks coop then I will go back to the side by sides for the 001, could be that they replaced the obverse die before the reverse die, and that is why my isn't showing a DDO.

thanks for looking

I agree about the direction of the dot, that was the only difference I could find. The images on Coppercoins are also of a circulated example, so some detail is lost. Given the amount of circulation on this coin, I think it is possible that they are from the same die. I agree with Coop that it is probably impossible to tell with 100% certainty unless you can find some die markers. Did you look at Wexler's images of WDDR-007? At this point I would be concentrating on finding any die markers to help identify this but, given the amount of wear, I doubt you will be able to find any.

Yes, you mentioned that dot before CWB. I should probably just leave it as a confirmed DDR at this point and move on to the next.

Appreciate all the help, thanks a bunch.
