I think it's kind of cool, but if it was re-submitted you could easily loose that distinction.

Not really. The chance of a 62 being downgraded is slim. A much better chance of a 62 being bumped to 63 than down to 61 unless it appears to have been slightly circulated and net graded to 62. If there is absolutely no sign of wear or circulation rub I would defiantly try for 63 top pop a few times to get the registry bump personally

BTW, the third choice should be "I couldn't care either way."

this is a thread begging to be abused... no offense.

i once had a hippie friend back in the late 60's. he would sometimes say "if you can dig it... that's cool. but if you can't dig it... why, that's cool too!"

don't know how that ties in with your survey, but thought I would add my worthless 2 cents... sorry.

but if you do have the only example in its grade, I do think that it is cool.

actually, the correct way to put the 3rd choice should be...

"I couldn't care less". adding an "either way" is optional.

the morons tho often say "i could care less" without realizing they are not using the proper grammar to truly make their point. hey, don't get me wrong, I am not a grammar policeman.

ok, it has been determined that most fatalities is trailer parks is the deceased person uttering these words... "hey guys, watch this!"

As I said, I personally do think your coin's one-and-only status is very cool, but I did not vote in the survey. like many things, I think that surveys or polls or whatever are "built by the man, designed to drag our souls down!"

that is a rough quotation from the movie "wild hogs".

my apologies for my attempts at humour. no offense. your poll is "cool".

mike

btw, I live in a trailer park, so am not digging on these fine, fine people. just got a crankster moved in, a bull-dyke with short curled green hair. nice!

Cascade, I guess I didn't make myself clear.

There would be no reason to resubmit the coin. If it got bumped up a grade it would no longer be the only ANACS MS62.

I believe that's called a "Catch-22".

I always get a kick out of people ignoring the Seated series. PCGS Coinfacts estimates that 300 exist, but due to the graded pop I'm more inclined to say 400-ish. Either way, it is in my definition of scarce.

Anyway, I'd say you have something there. As Cascade said, the coolness factor is being top pop.

totally agree.

This is not such a common date coin. They don't come up on the block that often. Only going by HA archives, you'll see a mid to high MS example or two every so often but not actively traded.

For those that might be curious, here she is in all her splendor

My issue with this is, that this coins distinction comes from its weakness.
What I mean by that is, more commonly people will use PCGS or NGC for higher value coins. Market seems to say that the value goes up more for those than the difference in cost of submission. As you mention, the other two "top 3" have more examples graded as such. So essentially your coin is unique in that the submitter chose ANACS.
Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to have that coin any day, ANACS or even ICGS for that matter. I am only aiming my remarks at the posed question of cool factor based on pop report.
To further demonstrate, I one owned a coin that had a population of approx. 10. It was a common Ike in AU58 from PCGS. The obvious logic, that who would submit such a coin for grading, especially to PCGS. While the OPs coin is way way cooler and more valuable, the idea is the same. The low population is symbolic of a market choice, not a lack of similar items.

I respect your opinion and points BigSilver. Please do keep in mind that this coin was encapsulated 20 years ago (Its a type-13 AOH which means it was graded early to late 90's) when PCGS and NGC had yet to really take the lead in the grading game and brand leadership.

ANACS OWHs are, to some, representative of days and graders were very strict on their standards of assignment. An ANACS OWH could be argued to be as valuable an encapsulation as any other on the market.

Dsfreeworld-
I don't doubt that the coin has value, my point was that the "pop 1 status" has not been usurped in all the years that have passed since its encapsulation because of my theory.
Today, there is hardly an argument as far as market perception goes, that ANACS trails.
Once again- awesome coin in any event.

I had Togo with ...very cool.

The coin has a lot going for it.

Better grade Seated coins are not seen much. Maybe they are at the
big coin show ... Or bigger market areas. In small town America, we
don't see them as much.

Also the fact that there is not really that many in same grade or higher = cool.

Then .. I am a big fan of ANACS small white holders ... Also very cool.

I think it is cool. I would leave it be and not worry about trying to get it regraded.
