That is the most superb 1914 I have ever seen

Just picked this one up last night for my Seated dime collection. 1845-O dimes are tough in VF and above -- particularly original and problem-free -- and become very scarce (and expensive!) in grades above VF. This VF will fit in nicely:

Thanks! My fledgling Seated dime set is mostly VF/XF, and some of these coins -- particularly the early branch mint stuff -- are very hard to find (and very expensive) in XF and above. For these coins I have to try to find VFs with superior eye appeal for the grade.

The '45-O is one of them. It's rare in AU and almost unknown in mint state (maybe a half dozen are known in MS, if that). VFs are affordable, but finding a VF '45-O that's not damaged, harshly cleaned or otherwise compromised isn't easy. I like the look of this one better than many of the XFs I've seen offered for three times the price.

And to pick it up at a little below typical VF trends price is a very good pickup, I think, given how hard it is to find 'em this nice and problem-free for the grade. This is my Christmas present to myself.

Not Special but it was a gift witch makes it more precious than its material.

Yep its a Sovereign and one that has seem a fair amount of Circulation too. I think it would have been nice to have been around when gold coins actually circulated..
