Thanks for the laughs I sure got a kick out of your original message to the seller. Seems like a professional reply Sarah gave you; I'm sure they can take a little ribbing in stride. But if I were serious and trying to negotiate a lower price for the bar I might go about it a different way.

I've been to Northern Nevada coins in Reno & Carson City over the years. The people I dealt with in person and over the phone were great. The location of the one you are dealing with is in Minden, NV. You might consider picking up the phone and talking to them. If nothing else, cultivate a relationship with someone there for now and in the future on these more expensive items. While I appreciate ebay I would rather buy an item from NDCC direct.

If you don't like the price, don't buy it. Insulting the seller is childish and will not get you a better price. I've never had bad dealings with NNC.
You offered $7,000 (a $2,499 lowball) and were politely declined. Move on. They are not going to drop the price $2.5k because some random person on the Internet thinks their gold bar is ugly.
You've made it quite clear to the seller that you think their gold bar is overpriced. What sense is there in continuing to harass them about it?
Let the market set the price. If it goes long enough without selling, they will have to lower the price or withdraw it from sale.

Yeah , That was a bit rude on your part . An e-bay seller can list anything they want and at any price they want . I admit sometimes I too FEEL like e-mailing a seller to tell them how ridiculous their listing or price is . But I show restraint and back off . You won't get anywhere with trashing them.

Insulting the seller and then trying to get that bar for under melt value, well lets just say I would not have been so professional or nice in a reply back.

I have to agree with what others are posting. If I got that sort of response from a potential buyer, I would block them. After reading it .. I sort of wonder why you would post that response on CCF. The seller looks like they do good business. Which would lead me to believe they know what they are doing. My guess they would have loyal customers that would pay them melt or a little over anytime they are offered it. They have it listed on ebay for what's they have research similar bars are selling for, and factoring in what fees they will have to pay. I sometimes wonder why some people feel compelled to tell others how they should do business. I am not posting this to run down the OP ... just to open the OP's eyes and others, that things look different when you are the business trying to make a living.

That you received any reply at all from the seller is a huge point in their favor.

I've gotten good prices from Northern Nevada, in person and unslabbed. In my experience their prices are firm, and their best coins are on the expensive side. For whatever reason that appears to be how they're pricing that fook.
You would get a lot better value buying common double eagles from them. Their markup is minimal on bullion coins.
