I bought a $150 fake 1932D quarter. Just like other members said, we all got burned once a while. It's part of the coin-collecting life.

Welcome!!

Welcome, Karen. Truth be known, it is harder to find a educated seller (in coins) and then one that is honest, than one who has miss represented something on an item they have for sale. That is why I try very hard to stay away from ebay. Oh yea, in my opinion. Dad wants us to be safe ya know.

Jim, an educated seller isn't always best... I love getting a rare VAM from some guy for only 30 dollars.

I understand. Read my two posts about the $3 gold piece I bought and the 1899 micro-O morgan. This was within the last several weeks. I've been learning a lot....unfortunately the hard way.

Yep I bought one of his quarters too. The slab job is a cheap do it yourself type of thing, and of course there is virtually no info to be found on the grading company. I am sorry to hear about your loss...mine was luckily only $5 as I think other buyers saw right through his b.s. and stayed away. I wish I had too.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM.
Just forget it. As already said if you use ebay often enough it will happen. Just be happy your experience was for only a few dollars. There are those that have been taken for thousands.
Did you notice at the far left it said 0 posts? Might be my computer.

I have a lot of reservations on ebay........haven't jumped into that world yet and I'm reluctant to do so. It's SO important to educate yourself first before purchasing things to reduce (but not elimanate) the chances of getting ripped off. I've been told that there are quite a few ways to make the safest/best possible purchases from ebay. There are many members here who live and breathe this hobby from ebay and can certainly give you the proper "Do's & Don'ts" ........

Master, you are so right. Unfortunately, that is the same guy that is selling 1970-S large dates for small one. And, they are always finding some sucker that does not know the difference. Notice, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and want to believe that they are making an honest mistake.

save it as a reminder that you got burned and chalk it up as a cheap lesson learned. what goes around comes around.

I have had relatively good luck shopping on ebay. Always check and READ the feedback carefully and don't hesitate to ask questions about an item, request extra pictures, or voice any concerns you have with an item. When I get my required post numbers, I can give you a couple of very reputable dealers that I have used without a hitch. As to the original post I am sorry you got taken, but two years is a long time to be that upset about it!! Try to focus more on a positive portion of your collection for the next post, you may be pleasantly surprised!!
